Skate America Champions, 2000 |

Jamie and David during their short program at Skate America 2000! All I can say is if you think this picture looks good then wait until you see the whole program! It was fabulous and I can't wait to see it at Skate Canada!
Jamie and David with their GOLD medals!!!!!!!! Way to go! The only mistake during the free skate was when Jamie doubled her sbs triple toe.
Jamie Sale after the short program:
"We skated with a great deal of calmness and confidence."
(On the difference between last year, when they came out of nowhere to win, and this year)
"We don't really feel any different. Every year we try to act as if it's our first year out and we have to prove something. I think the only thing that helped this year for us was the fact that the people here kind of know us more. It was kind of cool to have the reaction that we did. It was almost like being at home. That's the only difference. We have to come out every year demanding good programs of ourselves every time we skate, whether we're first or fifth in the world."
"It felt really good. In places we were a bit cautious, because this was our first time out. Otherwise, like I was telling David and our coach after, I really felt like I was trying to sell it as much as I could. But I thrive on that. I like performing for people."
After the long program:
David Pelletier
"We know it's a long season. From here to March we need improvement. That's not our 'A' skate."
Jamie Sale
"Our music is more powerful and more mature. I think that Lori (Nichol) was sort of wanting to give us that because she waited to give us the program when we were ready. She thought we were ready this year. This year it's more passionate and very powerful."
